Christiaan Allen Places Second at School Age Nationals

Highland Hawk wrestler and Team Arizona Weightlifter Christiaan placed second at the 2011 School Age Nationals in Flowery Branch, Georgia on Sunday June 26th.  Christiaan, a senior at Highland High School, broke two Arizona State Records his way to the silver medal.  He snatched 112 kilos and clean & jerked 131 kilos for a Total of 243 kilos.  This was Christiaan’s first National competition and we are looking for bigger better things from him in the years to come.  Once off the plane Christiaan headed out of town for a family trip and then onto a week long wrestling camp.  Congrats Christiaan.

Fund Raiser T-Shirt for Team Arizona Weightlifting

In order to offset the cost of Travel Expenses to National and International Competition Team Arizona Weightlifters will be selling Arizona Strong T-Shirts for $20. Team Arizona Weightlifting has sent athletes to every major national and international competition.  Many of these competitions are self funded.

Five Go to Senior Nationals

In July, Team Arizona Weightlifting will send five of it’s top lifters to compete at the Senior National Weightlifting Championships.  Top contenders Collin Ito, Craig Rintoul, Keith Weitz, Fred Martinez, and Sarah Robles will be competing for medals in Councils Bluff, Iowa.  The athletes need help with travel and uniform expenses for this trip.  The trip is estimated to cost around $4,000.  Sale of these T-shirts will offset much of these costs.

Collin Ito will compete at the World University Games

The World University Games Weightlifting Team will have to self fund their trip to China this August.  Trip expenses are estimated to be around $3,500.  Sale of these T-Shirts along with donations will help Collin go to China.  Collin is a dedicated weightlifters whom has always finished in the top three in the heavyweight class.  He is now looking for his first international medal.

Thank you for your help and donations!
