Sarah Robles moves up to 10th Place at the 2011 World Weightlifting Championships

News just in!  Sarah Robles moved up to a 10th place finish at the 2011 World Weightlifting Championships due to a positive drug test by the third place Weightlifter Olha KOROBKA from the Ukraine in her weight class.  This news also has changed the order for the US Women’s Olympic Team Ranking.  Sarah was sitting in second place behind Amanda Sandoval (58 kilo class), but now moves into first place.  Great job!  This news also means that Olha Korobka won’t be allowed to compete at this summers Olympic Games again another benefit for Sarah Robles whom is a dark horse contender for third place.  I want to congratulate Sarah and all the female athletes whom competed fairly and did not cheat to get to a head.  Justice has come through on this one.  Sarah has finished in the top 10 the last two years and top 11 the last three years.  She has been the top Female Lifter in the US the last three years without a question of a doubt.  Keep it up Sarah!

Richardson hits two home runs in her AZ return

University of Minnesota third baseman, Katlyn Richardson, hit two home runs during U of M route of Illinois State University on Saturday at Arizona State University.  Katy has been working with Coach Joe Micela since her Junior year of High School and has added a tremendous amount of Power and Strength to her body.  All the hard training showed on Saturday with two big home runs in front of many of her family and friends.  Katy has been a pleasure to work with over the years and always comes to the gym ready to work.  Over the Christmas break she came back and hit it hard for 3 weeks wanting to prepare herself 100% for the upcoming season.  It showed Saturday Night and all of the staff at Performance One would like to wish her continued success this season and we look forward to having her back this summer.
