Big congrats to two very special ladies,Tram Tran and Becky Walker. Both ladies lifted this past weekend at the 2017 University and Under 25 National Weightlifting Championships in Gainsville, Florida. This was Tram’s 2nd National Competition. She went three for three in the Snatch making 61, 64, & 66 kilos for a New Competition Personal Record. In the Clean and Jerk she missed 74, made 75, and missed 79 kilos (we’re still working on the Jerk). She finished with a 141 kilo Total and top of the B Session of the 58 kilo Class. Tram’s 66 kilo Snatch finished her 3rd in the University Division but due to an Administrative error was not awarded the 3rd place medal in the snatch at the time of the awards ceremony. She has been insured by USAW that the matter will be taken care of and she will receive her much earned 3rd place medal. We are very proud of Tram and all the hard work she has put into training for this event. Coach Joe believes that with more time Tram can compete on the Senior National Level very soon.
In the newly added 90 kilo class Becky Walker went 2 for 2 by wining the Under 25 National Weightlifting title to go along with her National Junior Championship she won earlier this year. Becky Snatched 79 kilos missed 81 twice. In the Clean and Jerk, Becky made 104, missed 108, and then made 108 on her third attempt finishing the day with a 187 Total. Becky is a rising star in the sport of Weightlifting and with time and support she can be wining medals at the Senior National Level and making Senior International Competitions within the next couple of years. All of us at Performance One are very proud of both ladies.
