Coach Micela uses the Front Squat as a gauge as to whether or not a Weightlifter will posses the abilities to be a good Cleaner. A Strong and Technically Proficient Front Squat will ensure the athlete has truly developed a solid position on how to receive the bar after the Pull. Once the body knows where and how to secure the bar the body can move more efficiently through the Range of Motion. Strength to Hold Position, Strength to Move through Position. This is a cornerstone philosophy of Coach Joe Micela.
